Psalm 115:12-16 says, "The Lord remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly. May the Lord richly bless both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. The heavens belong to the Lord, but he has given the earth to all humanity." The writer of this Psalm shows that God is the giver of blessings. The reason God blessed them was that He remembered them; in other words, God thought about them. God has not forgotten them. As God thought about them, He blessed them with His favors. God's favor can show in physical ways, such as meeting our needs, providing healing, offering wisdom, or any tangible blessings. It can also show in spiritual aspects, such as our spiritual maturity, guidance in our spiritual journey, or anything that brings us closer to Him. His blessings are available to anyone who puts their trust in Him, whether they are rich or poor. He never forgets those who trust and worship Him.

If God created the universe and gave the earth to us to live in, how much more can He show His blessings or favor to us? God's blessings are a result of our relationship with Him. We must understand that God's blessings cannot be earned by our good works or giving to the church or to His ministry. We can only receive God's blessings when our hearts are aligned with His heart. For example, A man desired God's blessing for his business, so he donated money to the church and made an effort to be a good person to others. However, his primary goal was to become a successful businessman, and he was unwilling to follow God's guidance or go where God wanted him to be. We cannot force God to bless us with our own ways. He can bless us when we are walking with Him, with a surrendered heart before Him. God cannot bless us if we continue to live in disobedience. We must align our hearts to Him, then everything will come into its place according to His plan and purpose.

God's blessings are available to everyone, but there is one prerequisite to receive them: we must align our hearts to His heart by trusting and surrendering our lives to Him.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Who is the giver of blessings? Can I get God's blessings according to my ways? How can I receive God's blessings?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, I acknowledge that you are the giver of blessings. Please help me to align my heart to you so that you may bless me. Please help me to trust and surrender everything to you. As I go to work or do my chores today, may my mind and my heart be pleasing to you. Thank you for all the blessings that you have given me so far, and may you bless the rest of my days as I trust and follow you. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
