GOD SENT JESUS AS OUR SAVIOR

Many people believe that Christianity is the same as other religions and that it is not as old as Hinduism, Buddhism, and other religions that came before it. As a result, they do not believe in Jesus Christ. Some even claim that Islam came before Christianity, even though Islam was founded by Mohammad 610 years after the death, resurrection, and ascension of our Lord Jesus. They didn't understand that the coming of our Lord Jesus was prophesied in the time of Adam (Genesis 3:15). Since the beginning of creation, there is only one God. He was the one who caused the universal flood and the confusion of language. God was the one who turned the Nile River into blood when Moses tried to prove to the Egyptian Pharaoh that He was God (Exodus 7:14-25). God was always at work in revealing Himself to the people of this earth since the beginning of time; however, they kept on rejecting Him because they loved their sins. They would rather make their own gods and religions instead of believing in the God who created them. 

When Jesus finally came into the world, just as our God the Father prophesied, many rejected Him. Many thought that Jesus was another person who claimed to be God or tried to start another religion. However, Jesus was the Savior that God had sent to save the world from sin. In order for people to believe in Him, He performed many miracles that only God could do, such as turning the water into wine, healing the blind and paralytics, casting out demons, and raising people from the dead. Despite all the evidence that Jesus was the Savior, they still rejected Him. Even to this day, people are rejecting Jesus as the Savior and God. There will come a time in the history of humankind when God will judge this world for sin once again. There are no gods, idols, or religions that can save this world from God's judgment. His judgment will come just as occurred during the time of the universal flood. No one can escape His judgment, except those who believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Our Lord Jesus is the only Savior in this world because He is the one that God has sent to die for our sins so that we can be forgiven of our sins. It is only through faith in Him that we can be saved, and not by good works or any religious rituals and performance. 

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). We must genuinely believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior to be saved. Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and other religions that reject Jesus as God and Savior will someday be banished as God's truth will reign on this earth when our Lord Jesus returns.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Why is it that Christianity is different than other religions? Why must I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior? What happens to those who reject Jesus as their Lord and Savior?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to save me from my sins. Thank you for helping me to understand that you are the true, living God, and there is no other besides you. Thank you for being so loving, gracious, and merciful. I worship you alone. Please guide me in your ways, protect my mind from Satan's lies, and help me trust that you are taking care of me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
