GOD SCOFFS AT HIS ENEMIES

One of the things we have seen today is that there is more and more hostility against God in this world. In recent years, Satanism has been promoted publicly, and people in political positions are trying to suppress the Word of God and its influence in our society. Just like the verse says, the rulers plot together against the LORD (God the Father) and against His Anointed One (Jesus Christ). However, Psalms 2:4 describes our God's response to all those who are against Him, "But the one who rules in Heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. Then in anger, he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury." No matter what God's enemies do, they cannot touch our God because He is above everything. He could easily take their lives away instantly if He wanted to. However, His desire for all of them is to come to repentance so that they can be saved.

Our God is not intimidated by anything His enemies try to do against Him. Psalms 2:10-12 encouraged God's enemies with these words, "Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling. Submit to God's royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities—for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!" There will be a day when God comes back to this earth to judge everyone, and those who refuse to believe in Him will perish in His judgment for eternity. Ultimately, God wins, and all His enemies, including Satan himself, will be destroyed.

Let us not be intimidated by anything this world tries to do against God and our faith in our Lord Jesus. Let us persevere in our faith, for God is in control. No matter what happens in this world, our God still sits on His throne. His desire is for His enemies to be saved, and He is using His church, us, to share His love and truth with them.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). What is God's desire for all His enemies? Is God intimidated by the things that His enemies do against Him? Why does God not intimidated by His enemies?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, You are always in control, for you are above everything. Whatever your enemies do, they are still subject to your sovereign power. I praise and glorify You for being my God and the protector of my soul. Please help me not to be intimidated or fearful of what the enemies do against my faith in you. Please help me to persevere and continue to obey and follow you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
