Psalm 119:161-168 says, "Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word. I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. I hate and abhor all falsehood, but I love your instructions. I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just. Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. I long for your rescue, Lord, so I have obeyed your commands. I have obeyed your laws, for I love them very much. Yes, I obey your commandments and laws because you know everything I do." Everything that God says is true; therefore, the Bible is true. God is holy and righteous, and there is no lie or corruption to be found in Him. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)" The reason the Psalmist loved God's instructions because it is the source of truth. Those who love God's instructions have great peace and do not stumble. It does not mean that those who love God's Word do not suffer or have problems. It means that the Word of God becomes the source of comfort and instructions in the midst of suffering and problems.

God's Word does not lead us to destroy our lives, but it leads us to life. As a result, we must follow God's Word, even when we do not fully understand it; that is where faith comes in and shows how much we trust God. We obey God's Word because God knows everything about us. He knows our past, present, and future. Every thought, idea, and political position that we have, we must filter through God's Word. God's Word is powerful and true. Psalm 55:11 says, "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Let us not avoid being in disagreement with God's Word because we do not want to be in disagreement with God. God gave us His Word to protect us from Satan's lies and instruct us on how to walk in righteousness. And this is the reason the Psalmist praised God seven times a day, because all God's regulations were just.

Let us treasure God's Word in our hearts and minds if we believe and trust God. Everything that God says is true, for God is true and holy. We must spend time with the Word of God daily because it is very important in our relationship with Him.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Do I trust God's Word? Why do I trust God's Word? Why did God give me a Bible?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, your Word is true because you are just and true. Please help me to treasure your Word in my mind and heart. Please help me live out your truth by filtering all my beliefs, ideas, and thoughts through it. I may not fully understand your Word, but please help me recognize your truth and live by it. Wherever I am today and whatever I am doing, may I reflect the truth of your Word in every word that I say and every action that I do. In your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.
