GOD LOVES US WHILE WE ARE STILL IN SIN

Romans 5:8 says, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." God showed His great love to us through the death of our Lord Jesus on the cross. The above verse shows that our Lord Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. It means that while we were still in the state of our rebellion and an enemy of Him, He died on our behalf. Our Lord Jesus died for the sinners, and not for the innocent. Jesus said, "For the Son of God (Jesus) came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)." God drew us to Himself through His love, and not through His punishment or judgment. As a result, we can approach God with confidence because of His love for us. He loves us no matter how much sin we have committed. The blood that our Lord Jesus shed on the cross can cover all our sins.
The very foundation of our salvation is His love for us, and not what we can do for God. Our relationship with God is not transactional, but it is a loving relationship between God and His children. The transactional relationship of God is based on good performance. It is a common belief that God can only love me when I am doing good, but if I disobey, God does not love me. The Bible does not teach transactional relationships, but a loving relationship with God. A loving relationship with God is based on God's love for His children. It is a love that cannot be broken by sin. Even when we are in rebellion and sin, God still loves us. After all, He died for us while we were still in sin. God loves us unconditionally. The only thing we need to do is believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we will experience His unconditional love in a very personal way. We cannot earn God's love with our good works, only through faith in our Lord Jesus, because He is the one who died for our sins.
The cross is God's demonstration of His great love for us. So, if we feel guilty and ashamed of what we have done, let us look on the cross to remind us that God still loves us no matter what we have done. There is always forgiveness because Jesus died for our sins.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How did God demonstrate His great love for me? Is there any sin that I have committed that God cannot forgive? Explain how much God loves me.
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, I am forgiven and I am saved because of your great love for me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for demonstrating God's love for me through your death on the cross. Please continue to remind me that I am accepted not because of my good works, but because of your love. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
