GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ALL BLESSINGS

There is no one like our living God, the ultimate source of blessings. James 1:17 says, "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow." All the good things about us are the work of God in us. We were naked when we were born, and God supplied everything that we need through our parents. He took care of all of our physical needs even before we knew Him. When we were lost in our sins, separated from God, and deserved to go to hell, God sent our Lord Jesus to die for our sins, so that by believing in the Lord Jesus, we would be saved (Romans 5:8). God reconciled our relationship with Him through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, and He adopted us as His children by His own will, and not something that we have done and deserve.
Now that we are saved through faith in our Lord Jesus, our Heavenly Father has promised us that He will never abandon us as His children. Just as He never gave up on the people of Israel, He will never give up on us. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, "So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." Even when God is disciplining us because of our sins, He never abandons us. His discipline is not to destroy us, but to restore us with Him. He promised that He will take care of us forever. Our current struggles and sufferings are not outside His blessings, for His blessings are outside of this world. Our blessings are beyond this world because our God, who is the giver of blessings, is eternal.
Let us be encouraged today that God's blessings are for us. He will supply everything that we need according to His riches in glory. Philippians 4:19 says, "And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Who is the source of blessings? How long has God been taking care of me? Should I worry about tomorrow? Why?
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for taking care of me even when I was an infant. You supplied everything that I needed. You have been watching over me since I was a child, and even now, you are still faithful in taking care of me. Please help me to always remember that there is nothing in this world that can take away your blessings from me, for you are the source and giver of all blessings. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
