GOD IS MY ULTIMATE ANSWER

What do we do when we are discouraged? What do we do when we feel like God doesn't care about our situation? Many people will drink alcohol, take drugs, or do anything that will numb their feelings. They even blame God and have resentment against Him. Unfortunately, none of them will not take away their discouragement or change their situation. In fact, it will worsen their situation. The Psalmist says this to God (Psalm 43:2-4), "You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God."

Although the Psalmist felt discouraged and felt God had rejected him, he kept on pressing into God because God is his only hope. His peace can only be found in his relationship with God. He wanted to go back to the place where he could worship God. There are many times that I have been discouraged and have no solution to my problem. I was scared and confused, and I felt like God didn't care about me. However, those were the times when I kept pressing into God and humbled myself before Him. I knew deep in my heart that God was only my hope. There is nothing in this world that could help me. I began to worship him and continue to pray. All of a sudden, God's Spirit started to encourage me and give me peace in my mind and heart. My problem was still there, but God promised me in my heart that He would take care of it. Looking back now, I am more encouraged to worship and pray to Him when I go through difficult problems because He has rescued me before.

We can face discouragement and problems that are beyond our understanding when we are walking with God. We have to keep on pursuing God in our discouragement and problems. We have to humble our hearts and admit to Him that we need His miracles. God can use our situation to make us a better person, and He is going to take care of our problems. As long as we are breathing on this earth, God will always be with us.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). What do I need to do when I am discouraged and face a difficult situation? Why is it important to keep on pressing into God even when I feel like He doesn't care about my situation? Can alcohol, drugs, or any coping mechanism take away my discouragement and solve my problem?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I humbly come before you this morning and acknowledge that you are my God and my only hope. There is nothing in this world that can give me peace in the midst of my discouragement and problems. Please forgive me for all the sins that I have done and draw me close to your presence. May your peace and promises overwhelm my mind and my heart today, and please help me to go through my problems. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
