DELIVERANCE FROM FALSE ACCUSATIONS

Although David walked with integrity before God, he was wrongly accused by his enemies, whose ways were evil. David prayed the following prayer in Psalm 26:1-8, "Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart. For I am always aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your wonders. I love your sanctuary, Lord, the place where your glorious presence dwells." David knew he was innocent of any wrongdoing, so he cried out to God to examine His heart to prove that he was innocent.

When we are falsely accused and know before God that we are innocent, we can turn to God for deliverance. Since God sees everything, we can trust Him for wisdom and guidance in responding to false accusations. The first thing that David did to handle false accusations was to pray to God for vindication and deliverance. David believed that God was the only one who could prove his innocence. The second thing that David did to handle false accusations was to respond with integrity. He continued to do what was right and let God deliver Him. The third thing that David did to handle false accusations was to continue to pursue God. David did not allow the false accusations to stop him from continuing to pursue God and serve Him.

God is the ultimate judge of everything. God will take care of us against false accusations. God knows the truth, and He sees that we are innocent. He will declare us innocent. And if Satan accuses us of our past sins, let the Word of God remind us that we are forgiven the moment we confess our sins to God and repent from them. We are completely forgiven of our past sins because Jesus already died for them.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). How did David handle false accusations? What should I do if I am being falsely accused? How can God declare me innocent of false accusations and past sins?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, You are the God of truth. You are aware of my innocence from false accusations. Would you please declare me innocent and deliver me from false accusations? Please help me to continue to be strong to do what is right and pursue you with all my heart. Thank you that my life is in your hands and that you are taking care of me. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
