AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, "So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, 'Come back to God!'" An ambassador is a person who represents his home country in a foreign land. Since we are now citizens of Heaven, God has called us to be His representative in this world. At this moment, we hold dual citizenship. We are citizens of the United States or our country of origin, as well as citizens of Heaven. Our citizenship in Heaven is more important than our earthly citizenship because it is eternal, whereas our citizenship on earth is temporary. As ambassadors of our Lord Jesus, God has given us the responsibility to invite people to restore their relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Only through our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ can people change, because He is the only one who can change the hearts of anyone. Our message and encouragement to those who are lost or walk away from God is to come back to God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is difficult to see when our love ones go astray from God, but one of the ways to become an ambassador of Christ to them is first to pray for them that their relationship with God will be restored. Second is to show Christ's love to them, not to give in to their sinful ways, but to love them by helping them to walk in the right direction. Thirdly, we need to walk our faith daily to set an example. We need to be forgiving and not hold resentments or be judgmental. We should not give up on them, but keep on encouraging and praying for them until their hearts are reconciled to God. When we look at our Lord Jesus Christ, He always shows His love, mercy, and grace to us, even in our rebellion. He draws us in with His love, but there is one thing that He doesn't tolerate: our sinful way. He never compromises His godly way for the sake of reconciliation. We must do the same. We must not give in to sinful ways for the sake of reconciliation because sin does not lead to reconciliation with God. Our mission is to help others to restore and strengthen their relationship with God as ambassadors of our Lord Jesus.
We always need to remind ourselves that we are ambassadors of our Lord Jesus Christ to this world. We are citizens of Heaven, where our God lives. God has given us the responsibility to invite people to restore their relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) What is an ambassador? How do I live as an ambassador of my Lord Jesus? How can I be an ambassador to my love ones and others?
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, you called me to be an ambassador to this world to help others to restore their relationship with you. Please help me to persevere in praying, sharing my faith, and living in a way that pleases you so that I can represent you to others. Also, please give me wisdom and a right heart to represent you. May I be your ambassador today wherever I may be. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
