WE ARE SECURE IN HIM

We are so blessed spiritually because of the grace of God. By His grace, we are forgiven of our sin and given eternal life. He has done all the work to save us, and all we have to do is to believe in Him. Our obedience to Him is the result of our salvation and not the means to our salvation. We do good because He started a good work in us when we believed in Him. We have a relationship with our God because we are His children (Galatians 3:26). As His children, He loves us with an everlasting love. We are secure in Him not because we are holding on to Him, but we are secure in Him because He is holding us with His loving and faithful arms. I always like reading the "Footprint on the Sand" poem because it gives us a picture of how much we are secure in Him.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."

We need always to be thankful for the grace of God in our lives. He deserves our praise and adoration. (If this is your first time reading this devotion, please read the two previous daily devotions so that you can understand better what the grace of God means).

Ask yourself these questions: How did God show His grace to me? What should be my response to His grace in my life?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayers:

Father in heaven, thank you for being so gracious to me. Thank you that I am always secure in you. No matter what happens in this world, you will keep me in your loving arms. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
