WALKING IN GOD'S WAYS

David wrote in Psalm 25:1, "In you, Lord my God, I put my trust." David's relationship with God was built in trust. His trust in the Lord made him want to walk in God's ways. David prayed, "Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good (Psalm 25:4-7)." David understood that if he ever survived, he needed to walk in God's ways. God's ways to David were a necessity and not an option. He could turn in many ways, but if he wanted to live and be successful, he must walk in God's ways. As a result, he asked God to teach him his ways so that he may have hope.

David also believed God was the judge of his ways, so he prayed for God's mercy for his rebellious ways. David is a good example of how we should live according to our relationship with God. We must live in His ways. Let us not be persuaded by the ways and thinking of this world that we don't need to walk in God's ways. Many lives have been ruined because people ignore God's ways. They think they do not need God; as a result, they wreck their lives and families. If we want a good and successful life, we must learn the ways of God and walk in them. Let us pray what David's prayed. Let us ask God to show and teach us His ways, for He is our Savior and hope.

Trusting in God means to walk in His ways. His ways are always according to His righteousness. So, to walk in His ways means to walk in godliness. Our attitude and behavior at work, school, and home matters to God. The way we talk and treat others matters to God. If we want to walk in His ways, we must obey God in every area.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). Why is it important for me to walk in God's ways? How do I walk in God's ways? Do I trust God and be willing to walk in His ways?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Be merciful to me and forgive my sin. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
