TURNING WATER INTO WINE

One day, Mary, Jesus, and his disciples were invited to a wedding feast. While in the middle of the feast, the host was running out of wine. Mary realized that to run out of wine during the wedding feast was a terrible and embarrassing situation for the bridegroom. So, she approached Jesus to do something. Mary knew that the only person that could help in this situation was Jesus because she believed that Jesus was God, the Messiah. She thought that Jesus could perform miracles by providing wine for the feast. But Jesus told Mary that his hour to be fully known as the Messiah has not yet come. It is God the Father's timing when He would be fully recognized as the Messiah. Once He began performing miracles, He would begin the road to save the world from sin by dying on the cross.

In any case, Jesus helped in providing wine by asking the servants to fill six jars, which can hold twenty to thirty gallons of water apiece, with water. As soon as the six jars were filled with water, Jesus miraculously turned the water into wine. It turned out that the wine that He created became the best wine at the wedding feast. This was the first miracle that Jesus had performed. Turning water into wine is impossible because to make wine, you need to have a substance that can be fermented, like fruit, barley, or rice. And, it can take time to ferment something. With our Lord Jesus, He did it in an instant.

Just as Jesus miraculously changed the water into wine, Jesus miraculously changed our lives also. When Jesus came into our lives, He gave us a brand new life in Him, full of hope. We used to be lost in our sin and not knowing the meaning of life, but Jesus saved us and gave us the meaning of life. We used to be alone and separated from God, but God adopted us as His children through our Lord Jesus. So no matter what we are going through, we need to remember that we are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. Everything that we have done in the past, those things have been forgiven. Just as He changed the water into wine, he can also change our situation in an instant. We need to continue to trust and believe that God can do anything according to His purpose and plan in our lives.

Ask yourself these questions: Since I am now a new creation of Christ, how should I live my life? Do I believe that God can change my situation? If I do, am I willing to accept His will in my life and live out the life that He has for me?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for changing my life through my Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for saving me from my sin and gave me eternal life and eternal hope. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
