Our Lord Jesus is the only God that is fully man and fully God. When sin entered into the world through the sin of Adam, we inherited the sin and became sinners. The effect of sin severed our relationship with our God. We lost our way to God and pursued the sinful desires of our hearts. Thus, we died spiritually because the result of sin was death. God then gave us the Law through Moses so that we could understand the ways of God. However, the Law of God became a stumbling block for us because we couldn't obey the Law. James 2:10 says, "For whoever keeps the whole Law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it." We tried to be good, but we kept on sinning. We became helpless and hopeless of our sins. No matter what we do, we are not good enough before God.
The only solution to our sin is having a savior. We need a savior to restore our relationship with God and save us from sin. Our Heavenly Father knew that we couldn't save ourselves, so He sent His Only Son, Jesus, to become like one of us as humans to save us. Jesus was born in Bethlehem as a human being. He experienced the devastation of sin and the suffering that sin has caused us. Since Jesus was sent by our Heavenly Father to save us, He was also a perfect God. Jesus was the only person who had never been tainted with sin. He lived a sinless life, although Satan tempted him to sin. As a result, He became our perfect Savior. With his humanity, we can relate to Him and represent us to God. With His Godship, He can relate and represent God to us. He became the perfect mediator between God and humankind.
Let us thank and worship God, for He is gracious and merciful in providing us with a Savior that can save us from sin and restore our relationship with Him. We are saved from our sins not because of what we have done but what our Lord Jesus has done for us. Only by faith in our Lord Jesus can we be saved.
Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you) Who is my perfect Savior? Why is Jesus becomes my perfect Savior? What should I do to be saved?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank You for sending your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior. I was lost in sin, but my Lord Jesus came to save me. I thank and worship you for saving and giving me a new life. You restored my relationship with you and adopted me as your child. I thank and worship you for everything you have done in my life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
