OUR VICTORY IS IN GOD

King David is one of the most revered kings of Israel, even to this day. The star of David is printed on the national flag of Israel, symbolizing Jewish identity and their religion called Judaism. In some traditional Jewish texts, such as Jewish prayer books, the star of David means the shield of David. The shield of David means God is protecting King David and His people, Israel. In Psalm 21:1-7, King David acknowledged God, "How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. For you have given him his heart's desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head. He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever. Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty. You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling."

It is encouraging to know that God represented King David in all his battles. We can say that whoever fights against David is fighting against God. In the same manner, God is fighting for us. God is not only fighting for our safety, but He is fighting for our godly living. He is fighting for our marriage. He is fighting for our family. He is fighting for our character. God is always active in our situations. We need to trust God in the way David trusted God. We need to trust God in every area of our lives. As we trust God, we will see our victory in Him. Let us not forget that our God is the giver of blessings. He blesses those who trust in Him.

No matter what we are going through today, let us trust God because He cares about us. God will work everything out according to His plan. When David fought his enemies, He trusted God with his life and believed that God would protect him and bring victory against his enemies. He acknowledged that God was the source of blessings.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). How did David fight his enemies? Who gave victory and blessing to King David? What lesson did I learn from today's daily devotion?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I acknowledge that you are my protector and shield. I trust in you in every area of my life, especially where I struggle. Please fight for me. Please help me to trust in your deliverance. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
