OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

God creates all human beings, but not all are His children. We are all created in the image of God, but not all have a relationship with Him. The only way we become God's children is through our faith in the Lord Jesus. Because the moment we believe in the Lord Jesus, God adopted us as His children. We become not only His people, but we become His beloved children. This is very important for us to understand because many people do not understand our relationship with God. Many people look at God as the God that they can reach out to in times of their needs, but they do not understand their love relationship with Him.

There was a 10-year-old boy abandoned by his parents and ended up surviving in the street of India. He survived by scrounging food and begging for money. One day, he was noticed by a store owner who had a bakery shop. He hired him as a delivery boy to take bread to his customers. Although he was very young, he did his best to deliver bread because that was the only way he could feed himself. As time goes by, the store owner ended up adopting him as his son. At first, it was difficult for him to adjust from being a hired worker to become his boss's child. He was still delivering bread to the customers but not as a worker anymore, but the child of the baker. He was no longer living in the street of India, but now he lives in the house and was loved by his adopted parents. He ended up going to school and graduated with honors.

Many people still treat God in a boss and worker relationship, but the moment we believe in the Lord Jesus, our relationship changed to a father and child relationship. The God who created the universe and everything in it becomes our heavenly Father, and He proved his love to us by sacrificing His only Son to die on the cross so that He could adopt us as His children. The baker loved the boy not because the boy was great, but he loved the boy because he chose to love him. Similarly, God loves us not because of our appearance or goodness, but he loves us because He chose to love us. We do not need to prove anything to be loved by God, but just accept His love and surrender our lives to Him.

Ask yourself these questions: Do I believe that God loves me? Do I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior? If so, do I believe that I am now a child of God? How does this affect me as a person?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for loving me and adopting me as your child. Thank you that I do not need to prove anything to be accepted by you. You accepted me because you chose to love me. Please help me to continue to grow in my relationship with you. Please continue to teach me to love you back with my life. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
