LIVING OUT GOD'S WORD

Living out God's Word in our lives gives us a strong foundation in life. Jesus said, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." (Matthew 7:24-27).

Every year, we get hurricanes that hit the southern-eastern part of the country, such as Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, etc. At this moment, we have hurricane Sally that is beating Florida, Mississipi, and Alabama, and it is expected to bring massive floods. Hurricanes usually bring enormous devastation to the US. They destroy properties, utilities, and lives. Storms are like the sudden, painful, and challenging experiences that we face in our lives. Typically, the sufferings in our lives come unexpectedly. So, if we are not grounded in God's Word, we can easily fall to despair and hopelessness. However, if we are grounded in God's Word, we can stand firm in our faith in God, and it brings confidence and assurance that God is always there to help us.

God's Word is not meant just to know it, but it is meant to apply it in our lives. If we are not practicing God's Word in our lives, we are in danger of Satan's deceit. When temptations or storms of life come, we will not be able to stand against it. We will easily be swept away. However, if we apply God's Word in our lives, we will recognize Satan's lies and deceit. We will be able to stand against it and not be swept away. Let us continue to live out God's Word in our lives. Let us not give in to this world's wrong ways, but turn around and focus our attention on God's ways. Here’s a song about the Word of God. (https://youtu.be/a6LC8cu03Ig)

Ask yourself these questions: How can I apply God's Word in my life today? What happens if I will not apply God's Word in my life?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for your Word. Please help me to practice everything that you are teaching me through your Word. I do not want to be swept away by Satan's lies and deceit. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
