When we become true believers of our Lord Jesus Christ, one of the things that the Holy Spirit starts doing is to renew our minds so that we can have the mind of Christ. According to 1 Corinthians 2:16, we have the mind of Christ. As we continue to learn about God through the reading of His Word, praying and walking by faith in Him, applying the things that God is teaching us, our minds start to change. We start to think like our Lord Jesus Christ. Our minds is where we battle against Satan's lies and temptations. It is where we can defeat fear, anger, worries, sinful thoughts, and low self-esteem. When we are overwhelmed, we need to think of God's promises and reject those impure thoughts in our minds. We need to remind ourselves of who we are in Christ Jesus. We have to replace our negative thoughts with the Word of God.
Whenever I am worried about something, I always pause and pray for what I am worried about. I start to remind myself of the promises of God that when I pray, He hears and answers my prayer according to His purpose and plan in my life, and not my will, but His. I start to submit my life to Him and trust that His plan is much better than mine. When I am afraid about tomorrow, I always remind myself that I am secure in Him, and in His timing, He will take me home to be with Him. When I am afraid of finances, I always remind myself that He will take care of me and provide everything I need. When I feel that I am not good enough, I always remind myself that God is my strength and wisdom. When I sin and feel guilty and shameful, I always remind myself that God is the forgiver of my sin and the restorer of my life.
We are blessed because we have the mind of Christ. The Holy Spirit constantly renews our minds as we read our Bible, pray, and submit to Him through our obedience. Since we have the mind of Christ, let us think like Him today and reject negative and sinful thoughts in our minds.
Ask yourself these questions: Who is helping me to renew my mind? What do I need to do when sinful thoughts come into my mind? Am I willing to reject negative and sinful thoughts in my mind and start thinking like Christ Jesus?
Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for the mind of Christ. Thank you that you are renewing my mind through the working of the Holy Spirit. Please give me the strength, the will, and the courage to reject all the negative and sinful thoughts that come into my mind and believe who I am in you. May you bless the rest of my week this week. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
