We must remember that we became God's children when we genuinely believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's children, we have been set free from the law of sin and death because we have been set free by the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. We have received a new life in Jesus, and no one or nothing can take our new life away from us. We will continue to struggle with sin, but our new life will remain in us. Once we become His children, we will forever be His children, for God will never forsake and abandon His children. Before God saved us, He already knew our weaknesses. He knew that we would be tempted and lose heart through the struggles that we go through in life. God knew that we would doubt and be tempted to sin. He knew that we would be lazy or procrastinate to pray, read our Bible, or go to church. Nothing can surprise God with everything that is going on in our life.
However, God would keep on working in our hearts to change us to become more like Him day by day. He would never give up on us. When we choose to walk in sin, God knows that we will be miserable because we will feel guilty and shameful because this is our natural feeling when we sin as His children. God is going to put hunger and thirst in our hearts to pray and read our Bible. He will convict us of our sin when we are sinning. In other words, God will never leave us alone because we are His children. The only way to have peace back into our hearts is to surrender our life back to Him.
We have to keep in mind that we have been set free by the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. We need to keep following God's way and not the ways of this world. We need to keep trusting God in every area of life and be willing to receive His will in our lives.
Ask yourself these questions: Have I genuinely believed in Jesus? If I genuinely believed in Jesus, do I believe that I am God's child? If I am God's child, am I willing to surrender everything to Him and accept His will in my life?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for setting me free from sin and death. Thank you that you set me free by the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Please help me surrender everything to you and accept your will in my life. Please help me to trust in you completely. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
