GOD'S PURPOSE

As we continue to grow in our understanding of our God, we learn that there is only one God, and there is only one way to have a relationship with Him, and that is through our faith in our Lord Jesus. Since God is the one who created us, He knows exactly what He created us for. He has a reason and a purpose why He created us. Sometimes, it is difficult to imagine that God has a purpose in our lives when we feel that we are not good enough or will never measure up with this world's standards. However, God does not use the human-made standard of this world to determine our purpose in life. God individually created us with importance, purpose, and uniqueness.

When God created us, He created us for Himself and not for ourselves. We get into all kinds of trouble when we try to live our lives for our own purpose. There was a man who grew up believing in God and wanted to become successful. He became a truck driver, and God blessed him with his career. As a result, he was able to buy his own 18-wheeler truck and his own house. Everything was going well in his life until he set aside God and live for his own ways. He got into a destructive lifestyle and then got involved with illegal activities to make more money. Consequently, he ended up in jail. Since he is now sitting in jail, he wonders how he got into all this mess.

The only way to have peace and joy in our hearts is to live according to the purpose of God in our lives. We need to follow His ways and obey Him regardless of what other people say. We need to stand for what is right and keep God in the forefront of our education and careers. When we feel inadequate, we need to look at Jesus and not at ourselves because we cannot do anything within ourselves, but with God's strength, we can do much. When the lies of Satan whispers in our mind that we are not good enough, we need to remind ourselves that we are God's children and that God has a tremendous plan in our lives. God will fulfill His purpose in our lives as we obey and worship Him. God's purpose in our lives is to live for Him.

Ask yourself these questions: What is God's purpose in my life? What happens when I set aside God and follow my own ways? Am I willing to live my life for Him?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you that you have created me with a purpose. Please help me live my life for you and not set you aside for my own selfish gain. I surrender my life to you. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
