GOD PROTECTS THOSE WHO FEAR HIM

We joyfully praise and worship God when we remind ourselves of the greatness of our God and His Word. God created the land and the seas by His command. Psalms 33:8-9 says, "Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm." God's purpose and plan will succeed over the purposes of mankind. The Psalmist continued to say in Psalm 33:10-11, "The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations." No matter the wicked people try to stop God from spreading His Word in this world, they will not succeed because God is an all-powerful God. There is nothing that can stop God from fulfilling His purpose on this earth, especially His purpose and plan for those who believe in Him.

Let us not trust in the things of this world but trust solely in God. During the time of Psalm, many people trusted in their horses' strengths. The good horses were a high commodity. They used horses for their chariots and transportation. But the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 33:17-18, "A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength, it cannot save. But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine." The word "fear" in this verse means "revere - deep respect and admiration." Let us trust and worship the God who is in control of everything. He is our Savior and Lord that keeps us safe in His loving arms.

No matter what we are facing today, let us remind ourselves of the greatness of our God. He is the one who created everything, and nothing can stop His purpose and plan in this world. God takes care of those who revere Him.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). Do I revere God? How much do I trust God? Why do I need to trust God? Who does God protect, according to the Psalmist?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, You are the creator of everything and have authority over everything. I worship and revere you. I trust you with all of my life and not on the things of this world. Thank you that you are going to fulfill your wonderful purpose and plan in my life. May you give me the strength today as I go through the day. May you be glorified in everything that I do. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
