GOD OWNS EVERYTHING

I just wanted to clarify something about the devotion yesterday. When we were talking about being redeemed by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, it did not mean that God paid Satan to release us from the bondage of sin. God doesn't owe anyone, including Satan, anything because He is the creator and owner of everything. Psalm 24:1 says, "The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him." When we inherited the sin of Adam, we were judged by our Heavenly Father because of His justice. Since God is fair, just, and holy, He has the right and authority to judge us because of our sin. The punishment of our sin is death (Romans 6:23); therefore, anyone who sins must die.

When sin entered our hearts, we became in bondage to it and judged with the penalty of sin. We were guilty before God, and Satan used this opportunity to make us captive under His control. When Jesus paid the ransom for our sin, Jesus not only paid the penalty of our sin to our Heavenly Father, but He released us from the captivity of Satan and sin. Jesus paid the penalty of our sin to our Heavenly Father with His blood so that we could be free. Jesus loved us so much that He did this for us even when we didn't know it. As a result, we are the prized possession of our Lord Jesus and our Heavenly Father. We mattered to Him, and He loved us to the fullest.

You may have noticed that God has been encouraging and reminding us of who we are in our Lord Jesus Christ for the last few devotions. It is very important to know and understand who we are in this world. As Satan uses the Media to influence people's minds with wrong perceptions of life and purpose, God reminds us that we do not belong in this world anymore. We have been redeemed, and we are a new creation of God. All our past sins have been forgiven, regardless of what we have done. We can now live without guilt and shame and have the full freedom to live in His love.

Ask yourself these questions: Who did Jesus pay with His blood to release me from the bondage of sin and death? Why did Jesus sacrifice His life for me? How should I live my life now knowing that Jesus had released me from the captivity of sin?

Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I am thankful that I have been redeemed by the blood of my Lord Jesus and that I am no longer in the bondage of sin and death. I am now a new person in you. Would you please help me to live in your ways and reject the lies of Satan in my thoughts? In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
